System Architecture

The SAKSHAM System Architecture is a comprehensive and intelligently designed framework that ensures seamless connectivity, real-time control, and advanced data insights — right from the field level to enterprise and cloud analytics.

Level 0 – Field Instrumentation Layer

  • This layer represents all physical devices installed in the plant. These instruments are directly wired to Level-1 I/O modules.
Includes:
  • Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level Transmitters
  • Control Valves and Solenoids
  • Limit Switches and Proximity Sensors
  • Relays, Starters and Motors
  • Other analog (4–20 mA) and digital field devices
Purpose:
  • Collect raw process signals and pass them to SAKSHAM or SIEMENS I/O racks.

LEVEL-1 — I/O Processing and Interface Layer

  • SAKSHAM I/O Racks + SIEMENS I/O Racks + Communication Modules
  • This layer converts physical signals into usable industrial communication data.

  • Interface Modules, AI/DI, AO/DO cards
  • Communicate with S7-1500 using PROFINET
  • Internal S800 Bus support
  • PN/IO couplers for distributed I/O
SAKSHAM I/O Racks
  • S700 and S800 industrial-grade modules
  • Communicate with SAKSHAM CPU using SGD Bus

Communication Interfaces

Purpose:
  • Act as the intermediary between field instruments and Level-2 control systems.
  • Digitizes plant signals into reliable structured data.

LEVEL-2 — Control, Monitoring and Supervisory Layer

  • SIEMENS PLC + WinCC SCADA + SAKSHAM OPC-UA
  • This is the highest layer where logic, visualization, and supervision occur.

  • Central control processor
  • Receives I/O from SIEMENS racks
  • Executes logic, interlocks, alarms
  • Communicates via PROFINET / AS-Network
WinCC / HMI / SCADA System
  • Supervisory interface for entire plant
  • Shows data, alarms, trends, controls
  • Access via:
    • SIEMENS PLC (PROFINET)
    • SAKSHAM CPU (OPC-UA)
SAKSHAM CPU
  • Works parallel to SIEMENS PLC
  • Provides OPC-UA open connectivity
  • Allows SCADA/MES/3rd-party access
Purpose:
  • Control operations, visualize plant data, support diagnostics and reporting.
